Honk for America

Every week we counter the anti-war activists who congregate on Fridays at the United Church in Murrieta. Most weeks it's the same; we get more support by the number of honks than they get.

You know, when we say "Honk for Victory in Iraq," people ask us what victory means. Victory means starting the process of peace in a region of the world run by dictators. Victory means allowing the same chance for democracy for the average Iraqi that we have here. Victory is always a process, as it has been in every just war. The Civil War didn't end when the slaves were freed. The surge in Iraq is working but it will take time. There is no choice but victory.

I think the "peace" people are a prejudiced people. They are intolerant of opinions, lifestyles, or identities differing from their own. They don't seem to care about the poor Iraqi or the poor Vietnamese they left behind in the 70s to die or be enslaved under communism. The Jews in Israel are another people that don't seem to concern the liberal left.

Surrounded by millions who want to kill them, Israelis have dealt fairly with the people who have vowed to kill them.

To support my feelings on this matter, come hear the facts on Israel, America, Syria, Iran, et al., from retired Israeli Gen. Shimon Erem (one of the founders of Israel) at the Nov 2 meeting of the Murrieta/Temecula Republican Assembly (www.MT-RA.com) at Pat & Oscar's restaurant.
